SAN JOSE, COSTA RICAThe capital and largest city of Costa Rica, San Jose is the economic, political, and social centre of the country. San Jose was founded around 1738, at the beginning of the western expansion from Cartago, and with independence from Spain it became the centre of the country's liberal element. It was made the capital of Costa Rica in 1823. San Jose has a university, founded in 1844. It was the site of two conferences of foreign ministers of the Organization of American States. |

THE 2008 GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN SOCHI (UPDATED)The General Assembly of the IAPMC will be held in the olympic city of Sochi, Russian Federation, from November 12-16, 2008.

Venues of the IAPMC in 2008In 2008 two key events for us, members of the IAPMC, are the Executive Board meeting which will be in Suwon, S. Korea from 23-27 April 2008. The second important event is, of course, our annual General Assembly which will be kindly hosted by the city of Sochi, Russian Federation, from 13-16 November 2008. The topic of the General Assembly will be ‘The 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: The Struggle for Peace’.
