PORI, FINLANDPori is located in southwestern Finland, near the Gulf of Botnia. Originally settled in the 12th century as Ulvia further up on the Kokemaenjoki River, it was moved to its present site in 1558. It was destroyed by fire in the 16th and 19th centuries, but was rebuilt both times because of its ideal commercial location. Pori contains a theatre, the Satakunta Museum, and Finland’s largest short wave wireless transmitting station. |

THE 2008 GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN SOCHI (UPDATED)The General Assembly of the IAPMC will be held in the olympic city of Sochi, Russian Federation, from November 12-16, 2008.

Venues of the IAPMC in 2008In 2008 two key events for us, members of the IAPMC, are the Executive Board meeting which will be in Suwon, S. Korea from 23-27 April 2008. The second important event is, of course, our annual General Assembly which will be kindly hosted by the city of Sochi, Russian Federation, from 13-16 November 2008. The topic of the General Assembly will be ‘The 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: The Struggle for Peace’.
