The General Assembly of the IAPMC will be held in the olympic city of Sochi, Russian Federation, from November 12-16, 2008.

In 2008 two key events for us, members of the IAPMC, are the Executive Board meeting which will be in Suwon, S. Korea from 23-27 April 2008. The second important event is, of course, our annual General Assembly which will be kindly hosted by the city of Sochi, Russian Federation, from 13-16 November 2008. The topic of the General Assembly will be ‘The 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: The Struggle for Peace’.

The International Association of Peace Messenger Cities has undertaken a campaign to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It will be culminated at our General Assembly in Sochi, Russia on November 13, 2008 under the theme” The 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: The Struggle for Peace!”

We have received THE CHARTER FOR A WORLD WITHOUT VIOLENCE, the contribution of the 8th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates and Peace Laureate Organizations held in Rome, Italy December 13, 2007.

On behalf of the membership of the International Association of Peace Messenger Cities, I wish to extend our condolences to the people of Pakistan on the senseless assassination of the former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

IAPMC wishes all its members, mayors and city representatives, peaceful holidays, prosperity and happiness in 2008.

During the General Assembly of IAPMC in 2007, the delegates have elected the city of Slovenj Gradec as Secretary General of IAPMC. We hereby provide some information about the payment of membership fee to the new account.
