Extraordinary IAPMC Executive Board Meeting, New York (April 29 - May 3, 2010)

The 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review International Planning Committee, comprised of NGO’s from the United States, Europe and Asia is organizing a day and a half long international conference on Nuclear Abolition, Peace and Disarmament on May 1, 2010, the eve of the NPT Review Conference at the United Nations. The conference will be held in the Riverside Church in New York City and will include between 800 and 1,000 participants.

Extraordinary Meeting of the IAPMC Executive Board, April 30, 2010, New York

The 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review International Planning Committee, comprised of NGO’s from the United States, Europe and Asia is organizing a day and a half long international conference on Nuclear Abolition, Peace and Disarmament on May 1, 2010, the eve of the NPT Review Conference at the United Nations. The conference will be held in the Riverside Church in New York City and will include between 800 and 1,000 participants. Following the decision of the Executive Board of the IAPMC in Sarajevo, our Association will participate at this event by organizing the meeting of the Exectuive Board, which will be held on April 30, 2010 in The Church Center for the United Nations, located across from the United Nations headquarters. After the meeting delegates will participate at the International Conference. We urge all the Executive Board member cities to attend this meeting. Furthermore, we would like to urge all the member cities, willing to attend the meeting, to visit New York City in the given period and contribute to the success of the meeting. Since there is no hosting city in this extraordinary event, the participants should pay for their accommodation (reservations have been made in the nearby Tudor Hotel, for pricing and other info please contact the Office of Secretary General). We are looking forward to a good turnout and attendance of this meeting. You will receive the information through the mail soon.

May 3, 2010 - Participation at the International Conference on Nuclear Abolition, Peace and Disarmament events (optional), departure of the delegates
May 4, 2010 - Departure of all delegates

General Assembly of IAPMC - Cyprus 2010

This year's IAPMC General Assembly will be hosted by the Municipality of Morphou, Cyprus, from October 6-7 (for members of the Executive Board the meeting will start on October 5). Additionally, delegates can attend the annual Morphou Rally, which will take place from October 9-11. The hosts will cover the accommodation for two delegates per member city (plus interpreter if needed).

Press Release - Oswiecim Appeal

Mayor Janusz Marszalek of Oswiecim, Poland, known throughout the world as the site of the infamous Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz, has called upon the world’s Head of States, in the name of the one and a half million victims who perished in the furnaces, to use the approaching United Nations’ Review of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in May to negotiate steps for a convention for the total abolition of nuclear weapons.
